How much does a website cost in India in 2026?
A clear breakdown of what decides the price of a website, real starting prices, and the yearly costs people forget to plan for.
It is the first thing almost every business owner asks me: how much will my website cost? The honest answer is that it depends on a few decisions you can make up front. Once you know what they are, you can plan a budget before you speak to anyone, and you will spot a quote that is too good to be true.
What actually decides the price
Most of the cost comes down to three things.
How many pages you need. A one-page landing page is quicker to design and build than a six-page business website.
What the site has to do. A contact form is simple. A blog you update yourself, a booking system or an admin panel where you edit every page takes more work.
Whether your content is ready. When your text, photos and logo are ready, the build moves fast. When they are not, the project waits.
Design quality and motion matter too, but they are part of how I build every site, so they do not change the price much.
Typical starting prices
These are my own packages, so you can see real numbers rather than vague ranges.
Type | Starts from | Delivery | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
Landing page | Rs 3,999 | 2-3 days | One offer, one campaign, or a simple online presence |
Business website | Rs 12,999 | 5-7 days | Most small businesses: 5-6 pages and a blog you run yourself |
Full CMS website | Rs 24,999 | 7-10 days | Businesses that want to edit every page themselves |
All three are responsive, so they work on phones, tablets and laptops, and all three include a contact form and the SEO basics. The bigger packages add more pages, animations, an admin panel and more rounds of changes.
The costs people forget
The build is a one-time cost. A few things renew every year, and it is better to plan for them from day one.
Domain
Your domain is your address: your business name followed by .com or .in. It renews every year. Check the renewal price before you buy, not just the first-year offer, because they are often different.
Hosting
Hosting is where your website lives. For a small business site, shared hosting is usually enough and is billed monthly or yearly. You pay for it directly, so the account stays in your name. I can help you buy both and take your site live.
Changes after launch
Small fixes right after launch are part of the job. New pages or features later on are quoted separately, and you agree to the price before any work starts.
A cheap website that brings in no enquiries costs more than a good one that does.
Why some quotes are much cheaper
You will find people offering a website for a few hundred rupees. Before you say yes, ask:
Is it built from a template that thousands of other sites use?
Does it work properly on a phone?
Who owns the domain and hosting account?
Can you edit the content yourself, or do you have to pay for every change?
What happens if something breaks after launch?
If the answers are unclear, the low price usually comes back as extra costs later.
How to keep your budget in check
Start with the pages you really need. You can add more once the site brings in work.
Have your text and photos ready. It saves time and money.
Pick a fixed package when you can. A fixed scope means a fixed price and no surprises.
Ask what is not included. A good quote tells you clearly.
How I work: 30% to start, 40% when you approve the preview, and 30% before your site goes live. Anything not listed in a package is quoted and agreed with you before work starts.
If you want a clear number for your own project, send me a message with what you have in mind and I will reply with an honest quote.
